Street Sounds They only care about your $ “When I was an amateur audiophile/high school sophomore, I drove my self and my first car to Street Sounds. I asked them to to install a pre purchased single din aftermarket head unit in a double din space and an amp kit in my truck. For $200 not only did they crack and break off pieces of my hard to find dashboard trying to get my previous head unit out, they customized (ie took a dull pocketknife to) an in dash kit that they had lying around (i watched them wipe the dust off of the plastic before customizing it). After whittling the dash kit down enough to fit it in the space, they had the audacity to connect my stock speaker wire to the wiring harness WITH DOLLAR STORE ELECTRIC TAPE. The only thing holding my dashboard to the car are easy to see screws. They only put 4 out of the 10 back in and as a result my dashboard rattled like crazy. I've had many references who have the $ means to purchase, from street sounds (at outrageous prices) and have them install, a full set-up of JL audio speakers, W7 and amps with a top of the line Alpine hu. Apparently, they treated them like royalty. When i went back to their shop the next day, i caught them leaving for lunch. There were 5 of them in a truck so I waved them down and the owner got out of the driver's seat. I explained to him my problems, listed above, and only asked that they replace the screws that they neglected to return to my dash board after the installation because the rattling was terrible. When the others in the truck heard my request they swarmed (as in encircled) me and asked me to show them my dashboard. I showed them and they immediately blamed me for messing around with the wires after the installation and forgetting to put the screws back in. I repeated my request for new screws and they took a power drill and replaced the screws. The last screw that the owner drilled in BROKE THROUGH THE PLASTIC RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES. I asked him what the sound was and he rolled my comment off his shoulder and started on a schpeal about how he built his business off of customer service and word of mouth. Please, you cant make this stuff up. The town of Jackson Hole has never seen a quality car audio shop. Even Best Buy demolishes this company in customer service.”
